Why we built this
Most Shopify merchants run into the same wall: their checkout needs a tiny tweak — a bundle discount, a free-shipping threshold, blocking checkout on out-of-stock items — but the only paths are (a) hire a freelance developer for a few weeks, (b) install a heavyweight app that does ten things they don't want, or (c) live without it. Shopify Functions are the right Shopify-native primitive for these tweaks, but they're shipped to merchants as a developer feature, not a merchant feature. AppApprove closes that gap: you describe the tweak, we ship the Function.
What you can ship today
Five ready-to-go recipes covering the most common store customisations: bundle discount (X + Y for $Z), free shipping above a cart threshold, block checkout when a watched product is out of stock, automatic VIP / wholesale pricing for tagged customers, and per-country shipping multipliers. Pick a recipe, fill in the values, generate. The install is one click in your Shopify admin via Custom Distribution — no app store listing, no review wait.
How the safety story works
Every Function we generate is built to fail open — if anything unexpected happens at checkout, your store falls back to default Shopify behaviour without the customisation. You will never see a checkout outage caused by AppApprove. We run a per-Function safety check before generating the install link, the Function runs inside Shopify's own sandbox (your cart and customer data never leaves your store), and you can download the generated code at any time and inspect it. Beta means we promise a 24-hour reply on bug reports and we are honest about the rough edges.
Pricing
Free tier ships one Function per month, preview-only — you can see what it'd look like before committing. Solo at $9/month gives you one live install in your store. Growth at $29/month covers five active installs across three stores (multi-brand operators). Plus at $99/month is unlimited installs across ten stores (Plus merchants and small agencies). The first 50 paying merchants get 50% off for 12 months. Annual plans bill at 10× monthly (two months free).
What's next
We are actively expanding the recipe catalog based on what merchants ask for. If your problem fits the Shopify Function model and isn't on the list, write to us — we want to hear it. The Beta label comes off when we hit fifty successful merchant Function deployments active in real stores for thirty days each, with a documented sub-five-percent deployment-failure rate. Until then, we treat every merchant bug as a same-day priority.
